Film FAQ Q. Why film? Why not just stick to digital? A. I love film, most of the photographs I take of family outings and occasions are still shot on film and Ruth and I feel that the look that is created by photographing with real film is something special. Shooting film also allows us to create real black and white prints and to make use of some of our beautiful genuine vintage cameras! Q. Can't you just recreate the look of film in Photoshop? A. You can, but in the same way that you can create lemonade with chemicals, it's never the same as the real thing! Q. Does this mean waiting longer for my Photographs? A. Not at all, as we hand develop all our films (colour and black and white) in our own darkroom it will take around the same time as our digital shoots. Q. Will I still be able to view my photo's online? A. Yes! We have top of the range professional scanning equipment that allows us to digitise our film. Q. Isn't film dead? Can you even get it?? A. This is often debated amongst photographers, but most will agree that the professional film produced today is the best quality that it has ever been and with some of the major film companies still bringing out new films we have a wide choice available to us.
